Federation Produces Press Release Series that Focuses on Addiciton

March 23rd, 2010 by Mary Powell

The Federation has created a series of press releases that have been distributed through The Coalition. These articles have been prepared to better educate the public about addiction issues.federation_pressrelease

  •   EAP Press Release [102.4 KiB] – Recent national events raise public concerns about the employee workplace violence and the cost to society of untreated mental health and substance abuse problems. From the professor in Alabama to the software developer in Texas, we see that ignoring these issues can have very dire consequences.
  •   The Importance of Jobs [100.6 KiB] – People who are unemployed have an increased risk of substance abuse and addiction. As a result, a critical component of addiction treatment is to improve the life skills that help people maintain employment and attain economic self‐sufficiency.
  •   Veterans Press Release [99.5 KiB] – Home to over 120,000 active duty personnel stationed in the seven military bases throughout our state or deployed overseas, North Carolina houses the fourth largest number of military personnel in the United States and expects another 25,000 active duty members by 2011. Military service is affecting our state’s veterans and their families, prior to, during and post deployment, with deaths, disabilities, injuries, mental health and substance abuse issues.
